Parc de l'Orangerie

Parc de l'Orangerie is a major public park in Strasbourg, located in the European Quarter of the city’s northwest. Established in 1803, the park was originally designed to house 100 orange trees gifted by the Château de Bouxwiller. It was created in the French garden style by the same architect who designed the Palace of Versailles. The park’s inauguration was presided over by Empress Joséphine, after whom the central pavilion is named.

Spanning approximately 25 hectares (64 acres), the park offers a serene environment with wide paths, seasonal landscapes, modern sculptures, and artistic atmospheres. It is free to enter and open daily from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm. A recommended visit duration is between 1 and 3 hours. The park is particularly noted as a family-friendly attraction and includes a zoo, which is also free to access.
