Château de Cheverny

The Château de Cheverny is a historic 16th-century estate in the Loire Valley, inhabited by the same family for over six centuries. It is known for its beautifully furnished interiors and its role as the architectural model for Marlinspike Hall in the Tintin comics. The castle is open every day of the year without reservation. Hours vary by season: from 9:15 am to 6:30 pm in high season, and 10:00 am to 5:00 pm in the off-season.

Admission is €15.50 for adults, with reduced fares available. Entry is free for children under 7 and disabled persons. Tickets must be purchased on-site. Additional fees apply for special exhibits, such as the "Secrets of Marlinspike Hall" Tintin display, guided tours, and transport rides. Dogs are not permitted inside the chateau, though resident hunting dogs are present on the estate.

Visitors can explore the gardens, take guided tours of the forest park and canals via electric buggies and boats, and attend equestrian shows. To cope with heat, air-conditioned areas such as the Orangery and the Tintin exhibition are available, along with misting points in the gardens and picnic area. This landmark offers a unique blend of aristocratic heritage and pop culture history, making it a distinct destination in the Loire Valley.
