Le Brévent

Le Brévent in Chamonix is a prominent peak offering 360-degree panoramic views of the Mont-Blanc chain. Accessible via the Brévent cable car, the lift travels from Chamonix (1093m) to Planpraz (2000m) and then to the summit at 2525m. This route serves as a popular starting point for hiking, including trails to Lac Cornu and the Grand Balcon Sud, as well as for paragliding and climbing.

Visitors can enjoy dining options at "La Bergerie" in Planpraz and "Le Panoramique" at the Brévent summit. The cable car operates with a frequency of every 15 minutes. For the 2026 season, specific hours vary: from July 11 to August 30, it runs daily from 8:20 AM to 6:00 PM; from August 31 to September 13, hours are 8:35 AM to 5:00 PM. Last ascent for a return trip is typically at 5:30 PM, with the last descent at 6:00 PM for Planpraz.

Admission prices vary by route and season. A one-way trip from Chamonix to Planpraz costs €31 for adults and €26.40 for children (5–14 years). The combined trip from Chamonix to Brévent is €77.60 for adults and €65.40 for children. Children under 5 enter for free. A family pass for the combined route is €133.40. The minimum age for the lift is 2 years. Schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions.
