Musée des Augustins

The Musée des Augustins in Toulouse is a Fine Arts Museum housed within a 14th-century former Augustinian monastery. This historic monument features Gothic cloisters and vaulted rooms, providing an immersive setting for its extensive collections. The museum showcases paintings and sculptures from the Middle Ages to the 20th century, including works by Le Pérugin, Rubens, Delacroix, Ingres, and Rodin, as well as pieces by local Toulouse artists. Visitors can access the museum at 21 rue de Metz, located in the heart of the old city centre. Public transport options include Metro Line A at Esquirol station and Metro Lines B at Carmes or Francheville stations.

Opening hours vary by day: the museum is open Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. It is closed on Tuesdays (groups only with staff accompaniment) and Wednesdays. There is one late-night opening per month until 9:00 pm. Last tickets are issued 30 minutes before closing. The museum is closed on December 25, January 1, and May 1.

Admission is €5 for full price and €3 for reduced rates, including students and young people aged 6–17. A family ticket costs €15. Free admission is available on the first Sunday of every month, for children under 6, and for specific groups such as people with disabilities, teachers with pre-booked groups, and holders of the Tourism Pass. Note that parts of the cloister are under restoration until spring 2027, with the church and Gothic areas scheduled to reopen in 2026. The site offers amenities including a boutique-library-café and audio guides.
