Saint-Corneille Crypt

The Saint-Corneille Crypt is part of the extensive Underground Galleries of Provins, a mysterious historical site in France. Originally quarried for fuller’s earth to support the medieval cloth industry, these galleries served various purposes over time, including hiding places, storage during the Champagne Fairs, places of worship, and potentially freemason lodges. Visitors must join a guided tour to navigate the galleries safely, as the network is extensive and complex. Groups are limited to 25 people, and tours are available in French or English. The galleries are open from March 28 to July 3, with hours varying by day: weekends and holidays from 10:30 AM to 5:30 PM, and weekdays from 3:45 PM to 5:15 PM during school holidays.

The constant temperature inside the galleries is 13°C, so visitors are advised to bring a layer for their shoulders.
