The Louvre Museum

Extended hours apply on Wednesdays and Fridays, closing at 9:00 PM. Last entry is permitted one hour before closure, and visitors must vacate 30 minutes prior. Admission fees are €22.00 for EEA residents and €32.00 for non-EEA visitors, with free admission for eligible groups. Time-slot bookings are highly recommended to manage the large volume of tourists.

The main entrance is the iconic Pyramid, but alternative entrances at the Carrousel and Porte des Lions are available during peak times to reduce wait times. Visitors should note that some galleries may be closed due to high temperatures, as the museum lacks air conditioning. For a more peaceful experience, Mondays and Thursdays are recommended, while Wednesdays tend to be crowded due to the Tuesday closure. The peak season from June to September brings larger crowds, whereas the low season from January to April offers fewer visitors.

Adjacent to the museum, the Tuileries Garden is free to enter and open from 7:30 AM to 10:00 PM in the Cour Napoléon. This space provides a pleasant area for relaxation before or after the museum visit. Two free public toilets are available in the garden. The Louvre houses one of the world’s largest and most diverse art collections, spanning from antiquity to the mid-19th century. Its vast size means visitors should plan their itinerary carefully to see key works like the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo.
