Bourges Cathedral (Cathédrale Saint-Étienne)

Bourges Cathedral (Cathédrale Saint-Étienne) is a masterpiece of Gothic architecture located in the historic center of Bourges, France. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1992, it is considered one of France’s most beautiful cathedrals and a precursor to the Gothic style. Construction began in 1195, and the structure stands nearly 120 meters long and 41 meters wide. Key architectural features include a very long nave, imposing Gothic vaults, and rare quality stained glass windows. The Tower is open Thursday to Sunday afternoons and public holidays between July 2 and August 30, with an individual ticket costing €7. A combined ticket for the Crypt and the Jacques Coeur Palace is available for €12. Free admission is offered to visitors under 18, EU nationals aged 18–25, disabled persons with an accompanying adult, jobseekers with a recent certificate, and holders of valid Education Passes.
