Hôtel d'Assézat

The Hôtel d’Assézat stands as a premier example of French Renaissance architecture in Toulouse, commissioned in 1555 by Pierre d’Assézat, a wealthy merchant whose fortune stemmed from the lucrative pastel trade. Designed by architect Nicolas Bachelier and completed by his son in 1562, the mansion reflects the city’s 16th-century prosperity.
