Parc des Expositions et de la Gare
Exhibition park and train station in Cahors
Parc des Expositions et de la Gare in Cahors is a site that previously served as a regional facility for public events, trade fairs, and corporate assemblies. Located in the Fontanes area, the complex was built in 2002 on a site covering 51,340 square meters, with 4,500 square meters of built space. It was designed to host concerts, festivals, and other large-scale gatherings, acting as a central hub for business and cultural activities in the Grand Cahors region.
However, the facility is no longer open to the public. In July 2025, elected officials from Grand Cahors voted to definitively close the site to visitors. The decision was driven by financial considerations, as the costs associated with maintaining the facility exceeded the revenue it generated. Officials noted that the park’s technical and geographical characteristics no longer allowed it to fulfill its original function as a tourist and business infrastructure.
The future use of the site is currently under review, with plans to repurpose the land for industrial and aerospace applications. As a result, there are no opening hours, admission fees, or visitor services available. Travelers planning a visit to Cahors should note that this location is not accessible for tourism or public events. For information on current exhibitions or events in the area, visitors are advised to consult the official Cahors tourism website or contact the local tourist office directly. The site remains a significant landmark in the region’s recent history, reflecting the evolving economic landscape of the area.
