Tour Magne

The Tour Magne in Nîmes is a historic octagonal tower standing 32 meters high. Originally built around 15 BC as the highest and most prestigious structure within the Roman walls, it was constructed around an earlier Iron Age dry-stone tower. It served to signal the city's presence and the nearby imperial sanctuary of La Source. Today, only three of its original four levels remain, offering remarkable views of Nîmes from the summit.

The tower is open 7 days a week, with schedules varying by season, typically ranging from 9:00 or 9:30 AM to 16:30 or 20:00 PM. Specific closures occur during February and Christmas school holidays. Last admission is 15 minutes before closing.

Admission fees are €4 for adults, €3.50 for students, jobseekers, and teachers, and €1.50 for children aged 7–17. A family package for two adults and one or two children costs €8.50. Group rates for 20–50 people are €3.50 for adults and €1 for children. Entry is free for children under 7, disabled persons with one companion, recipients of minimum social benefits, and professional tour guides with proof.
