Vannes Old Town (Vieux-Vannes) is a fortified and preserved area located on the south coast of Brittany, where the Marle and Vincin rivers meet. Dating back to the Gallo-Roman period in the 3rd century, the city reached its political peak in the 17th century, though its medieval character was solidified under Duke John IV in the 14th century.
