Vesunna Gallo-Roman Museum

The Vesunna Gallo-Roman Museum in Périgueux is a unique site-museum designed by architect Jean Nouvel, built within the protected historic remains of an ancient urban residence (domus) and a temple tower. Located at Parc de Vésone, 20 rue du 26ème Régiment d'Infanterie, 24000 Périgueux, the museum showcases the ancient city of Vesunna. The architectural design features a large protective canopy and high glass walls that offer spectacular views of the ruins and the surrounding Tour de Vesunna park.

The collection displays exceptional antique collections, including jewelry, ceramics, and painted plasterwork that illustrate daily life. Thematic tours explore "the city and public life" and "the home and private life." The site is labeled as a "Great site in Périgord" and offers disabled access.

Opening hours vary by season. During peak months (July and August), it is open daily from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. In winter (October–March), it is closed on Mondays and operates with split shifts, typically Tuesday–Friday from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm and Saturday–Sunday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Admission is €6 for full price, €4 for reduced rates, and €12 for family rates. Entry is free for children under 6 and local youth under 26.
