Clos de Vougeot

The Château du Clos de Vougeot is a historic landmark situated on the Route des Grands Crus in the Côte de Nuits vineyards. Originally built in the 12th century by monks from the Abbey of Cîteaux as a wine farm, the site was transformed into a château during the Renaissance. Since 1934, it has served as the headquarters of the “Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin,” an organization dedicated to promoting Burgundy wines globally. The château hosts high-profile evening events called "Chapitres" 16 times a year, inducting new knights and hosting dinners in the winery.

Visitors can explore the estate through self-guided or guided tours. Self-guided admission costs €12 for adults, €5 for children aged 8–16, and is free for children under 8. Guided tours are available for €13. During the high season (April–October), the château is open daily from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm, with the ticket office closing at 5:30 pm. Guided tours in English are offered at 11:30 am and 3:30 pm, while French tours are available at 10:30 am, 2:30 pm, and 4:30 pm. In the low season (November–March), hours are 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. The site is closed on December 24–25, 31, and January 1.

The location offers scenic views of the vineyards, particularly at sunset. Amenities include parking, a shop, and a film projection room. Pets are not allowed.
