Roman Theatre of Vienne

The Roman Theatre of Vienne is a significant Gallo-Roman monument located in central France, built between 40 and 50 AD on the slopes of Pipet Hill. As one of the largest urban theatres in the Roman Empire, it originally accommodated up to 13,000 spectators, making it the second-largest in Gaul after Autun. The structure features a semi-circular hemicycle integrated into the landscape, serving both entertainment and civic functions in antiquity. A smaller Odeon was added nearby in the 2nd century.
