Église Saint-Ouen

The Église Saint-Ouen in Rouen is a masterpiece of Rayonnant Gothic architecture, named after Saint Ouen, a bishop buried there around 680 AD. The current structure replaced a larger Romanesque church destroyed by fire. Construction began in the early 14th century but was delayed by the Hundred Years’ War. The main body was completed in the early 16th century, with the façade finished in the 19th century. Located at 76000 Rouen, the church emphasizes verticality and light, featuring a length of over 130 meters, a chevet with 11 staggered chapels, a central tower with Flamboyant Gothic decorations, and the Marmousets Portal.
