Musée des Beaux-Arts de Rouen

The Musée des Beaux-Arts de Rouen is a highly-rated cultural institution in Normandy, ranked as one of the top attractions in the region. Established following the French Revolution, with initial collection efforts starting in 1790, the museum opened to the public in 1799. Originally housed in a Jesuit church and later the City Hall, it moved to its current building in 1888, designed by architect Louis Sauvageot, and underwent a major renovation completed in 1994 under Andrée Putman.
